Snapping a season opening three game losing streak, Medina downed Brockport 8-5 in a non league lacrosse contest at Vets Park this morning.

Zaric Boyce and Cayden Lilleby both scored three goals to lead the Mustangs attack as Will Prest and Josh Wilson each chipped in with one.

Medina built up a 4-0 half-time advantage as Boyce, Prest and Wilson each scored a goal in the first quarter and Lilleby netted the lone second quarter tally.

Brockport did cut the lead to 4-2 early in the third quarter but Medina answered back with a key three goal scoring burst to regain a 7-2 lead at the three-quarter mark. A goal by Lilleby ignited that rally as Boyce followed up with back-to-back tallies.

The Mustangs upped the advantage to 8-2 early in the final period on a goal by Lilleby as the game’s final three tallies belonged to the Blue Devils.

Medina next visits Grand Island on Monday for an interdivisional game.
