Brendan Luthart, who will be a sophomore at Medina High this fall, competed for the New York team at the Brine All American Lacrosse National Tournament this past week in Virginia.

The New York team went 2-2-1 in the competition which involved 16 teams from around the country. New York defeated Ohio 7-3 and Georgia 13-3, tied New Jersey 7-7 and lost to Florida 10-6 and Maryland 10-5. Maryland went on to win the championship.

“The level of competition was amazing,” said Medina varsity lacrosse Coach Gordy Luthart. “Brendan played midfield and saw a significant amount of playing time. He contributed by playing solid defense and moved the ball very efficiently. We are extremely proud of how well Brendan played and he represented our lacrosse program with class.”

A starter for the Medina varsity squad as a freshmen this past spring, Luthart scored 21 goals and had 14 assists for the Mustangs.
