Medina spikers down Lyndonville
Rallying from a 10 point deficit midway through the first set, Medina rebounded to defeat visiting Lyndonville 25-22, 25-9, 25-10 this evening in a non league volleyball match.
Lyndonville built up as much as a 14-4 lead in the opening set as Kennedy Clark served up points 2-5, including three aces, Cierra Riley points 8-11, with one ace, and Jessica Harling points 13-14 with an ace.
However, Medina rallied to claim a 25-22 win as a five point run of service points by Emily Kams (6-10) ignited the comeback. The rally also featured two spiking kills each by Lexie Sargent and Abigail Maines and one by Kams.
Leading by a narrow 9-7 margin, Medina then broke the second set open as Carley Schultz served up a marathon run of 12 straight points, a run which included three aces and two spiking kills by Molley Gross.
Grace Masse registered aces for the final two points of the set.
Schultz likewise had a big run of eight straight service points, including three aces, in the third set to vault Medina from a narrow 9-7 lead into a 19-7 advantage.
Liz Newman served up the final three points to close out the match.
Maines had a total of 5 kills as Lezi and Cassie Sargent and Gross each had 3 while Schultz had 6 aces.
