Medina spikers down Lyndonville

Medina bested host Lyndonville 25-10, 29-27, 25-12 this evening in a non league girls volleyball match.

Je’ne Brown had 5 spiking kills and Molley Gross 4 while Faith Henning added 9 service aces, Lexie Sargent 7 and Grace Masse 2 to set the pace for Medina.

Leah Sheelar served up points 1-5 and Carley Schultz 12-18 to lead Medina in the opening set.

Lyndonville jumped out to an early 8-5 lead in the sea-saw second set as Alecia Hinkson served up points 2-8.

After a series of lead changes, Sargent served up aces for points 23 and 24 to put Medina up 24-22.

However, Lyndonville rallied back into a 27-26 lead as Kennedy Clark scored points 24 and 25 and Cassie Maynard served up an ace for point 27.

Medina though rallied to take the next three points and claim the wild 29-27 win as Gross registered kills for points 27 and 29 and Masse served up an ace for point 28.

Henning then keyed Medina to a victory in the deciding third set by serving up points 3-14, a run which included 7 aces.

Clark finished with 4 kills and 7 digs, Paige Gardner 2 kills and 6 assists and Josephine Joy 8 digs for Lyndonville.

Batavia 25-18-26-17-27, Albion 19-25-24-25-25
Batavia outlasted host Albion in a marathon five set non league match taking both the third and deciding fifth sets in overtime.

Chanyce Powell had 12 kills and 11 blocks, Kaitlyn Van Skiver 9 kills and 4 aces, Haley Smith 7 kills and 4 aces, Caitlyn Snook 4 kills and 5 aces and Sierra Newton 3 kills and 5 aces for Albion.

Kendall 25-25-21-25, RAC 12-17-25-11
Kendall scored a four set 25-12, 25-17, 21-25, 25-11 non league victory over visiting Rochester Academy Charter to improve to 6-4.

Emily Mattle had 10 kills and 5 aces, Sunni Brice 14 assists and 7 aces, Lexi Payton 11 aces and 2 kills and Madison Rath 6 aces and 2 kills to lead the way for the Lady Eagles.

Holley 25-12-25-21-25, Lyndonville 10-25-18-25-22
Ava Kohut had 12 aces, Jennah McMillion 7 aces, Angie Weaver 6 kills and Allison Howard 17 service points including 4 aces to set the pace for Holley in Saturday’s five set win at Lyndonville.

Clark had 6 kills, Hinkson 7 aces and 4 kills and Skylar Lear 3 kills and 2 aces for Lyndonville.
