Medina spikers defeat Newfane

Celebrating Homecoming, Medina scored a 25-13, 25-15, 23-25, 25-14 victory over visiting Newfane this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League volleyball match.

Molley Gross had 10 spiking kills to lead Medina at the net as Maddie Williams and Je’ne Brown both had 6.

Grace Masse added 10 assists and Emily Kams 7 for the Mustangs.

Medina jumped out to a commanding lead by taking the first two sets. Lexi Neuman had 3 service aces, Kams 2 and Williams and Lexie Sargent 1 each in the opening set. Sargent then served up 3 aces, Kams 2 and Leah Sheelar 1 in the second set.

Medina is now 2-3 and Newfane 0-5 in N-O action.

Albion 242, Akron 270
Albion downed Akron 242-270 this afternoon in an N-O golf match.

Patrick Ricker and Victor Benjovski both shot 45 and Nick Perry 48 to lead the way for Albion which improves to 4-5-1.

Brennan Murty took medalist honors with a 44 for Akron which drops to 1-10.
