Medina sophomore places 5th at state meet

Medina High sophomore Madelynn Rutledge placed fifth in the Long Jump at the Division 2 (small schools) state track and field championships today at Cicero North High School near Syracuse.
Rutledge had a leap of 17-1 on her sixth and final attempt to earn fifth place honors.
She qualified for the state championships with a school record leap of 17-6 1/2 at last weekend’s Section VI state qualifier. That effort broke her own school record of 17-4 1/2 hich she set a couple of weeks early at the Niagara-Orleans All-League meet.
