A school record leap in the Long Jump has earned Medina High sophomore Madelynn Rutledge a trip to next weekend’s state track meet.

Rutledge had the school record and state qualifying leap of 17-6 1/2 at the Section VI Division II state qualifier meet this afternoon where she placed third in the Long Jump.

She broke her own record of 17-4 1/2 which she set two weeks ago in winning the Long Jump at the Niagara-Orleans All-League meet.

Newfane’s Mel Meyers was the N-O League’s lone winner at the Section VI meet as she took top honors in the Triple Jump with a jump of 35-11 1/4.

Roy-Hart had Nadia White place third in the Triple Jump and fourth in the Long Jump and Brandin Allen third in the 400 Hurdles. Barker’s Keira Dalton placed third in the Discus.
