The accent will be on youth for the Medina softball team this season as the Mustangs look to improve on last Spring’s 2-10 Niagara-Orleans League record.
The quintet of seniors Eva Lacy (Outfield), Makenzie Alverez (Third Base) and Sophia Goyette (Infield) along with junior Lilah Class (Outfield) and sophomore Samantha Heschke (Infield/Pitcher) provide the veteran experience.
The Mustangs also also looking to junior Karlee Cau (Pitcher/Infield) along with freshman Harmoni Wilson (Outfield/DP) and eighth graders Caliyah St. Louis (Infield), Savannah Jo Thompson (Infield) and Jenna Cecchini (Infield/Outfield).
“We are building for the future,” said Coach Annmarie Beutel.
Medina’s graduation losses included first team All League honoree Iyla Lilleby, second team selection Lorelei Sanders and Honorable Mention pick Baileigh McAdoo.
The Mustangs will tune-up for the N-O season by hosting CSAT on Tuesday, Byron-Bergen on Thursday and Kendall on March 31, all at 5 p.m., before hosting Roy-Hart in the league opener on April 2 at 4:45 p.m.
