Medina scores youth football sweep over Akron; Albion varsity squad downs Batavia
Medina scored a tripleheader sweep over host Akron Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Assoacition (NOFA) competition.
The Medina Colts won 22-6, the Broncos 39-0 and the Stallions 32-19.
Christian Moss rushed for 2 touchdowns and Trey Shine caught 1 TD pass and had a total of 130 yards receiving for the Colts. Preston Woodworth completed 10 of 13 passes for 162 yards and one TD.
On defense for the Colts, Elijah Doxey had two rumble recoveries and Mackoy Hall one.
Julian Woodworth had 164 yards rushing and a TD and 17 yards receiving with 1 TD for the Broncos. Justin Pitts added 54 yards rushing and a TD and Amari Soule 53 yards and a TD. Brody Fry and Liam Castricone each also scored a TD. Cole Callard had one passing TD.
On defense, Soule led the way with 6 tackles while Castricone had 4, Logan Gray 2 and an interception and Kaedon Cleveland an interception.
Xander Payne threw 4 touchdown passes to Lavvon Guy, Anthony Monell, Trenton Muck and Izell Satkowsk to lead the Stallions. Hayden Woodroe added a rushing TD and caught at 2 point conversion.
Defensively Noah Skinner, Rashawn Bloom, Cayden Lilleby and Brandon Collins had multiple tackles.
Albion varsity squad downs Batavia
Amari Jones had a pair of 2 yard touchdown runs and a 2 yard TD pass to Javon Jones to lead the Albion varsity squad to a 33-6 win over host Batavia. Jahmeek Riley added 35 yards rushing and Amilcar Morales-Aguliar 22 yards.
The Albion defense also contributed a pair of touchdowns on a 47 yard fumble recovery return by Sh’kwe Riley and a 54 yard interception return by Javon Jones. Jabari Johnson chipped in with a pair of sacks.
Batavia defeated Albion in the other two games winning the Mini contest 34-0 and the JV 21-0.
Noah Harrison had 5 tackles and a fumble recovery and Nate Gibson 3 tackles for the Albion Mini squad. Harrison also had 18 yards rushing and 15 receiving from Gibson.
Colin Webb had 7 tackles for the Albion JV team as Kawame Riley had 6, Xavier Byrd 5 and Dylan Narburgh and Jared Ostrander 4 each. Byrd also had 19 yards rushing, James Trembley 10 and Seth Krenning 22 receiving.
