Medina scores shootout field hockey win

Medina scored a 3-2 shootout victory over host Kenmore this afternoon to improve to 2-0 in Niagara-Orleans League field hockey competition.

Lacey Kenward and Sarah Cochrane each scored a goal in the shootout to earn the Mustangs the victory.

Medina golie Alyssa Blount blanked Kenmore in the shootout.

Cochrane and Guin Schalck scored the Medina goals in regulation time.

In the other N-O contests, Roy-Hart nipped Wilson 1-0 and Barker downed Newfane 9-0.

Danielle Kozma scored the Roy-Hart goal as Jamie Bower earned the shutout in goal.

Katrina Clare scored 3 goals and Casey A’Hearn 2 to lead the way for Barker as Rachel Hurtgam, Madison Gancasz, Natalie Menz and Ciara Gregoire each added 1.

Barker next visits defending champion Akron Thursday while Medina visits Roy-Hart and Wilson hosts Newfane.
