In a big game for both squads with Roy-Hart/Barker needing a win to stay in the playoff hunt and Medina looking to get back to .500 on the season, Medina scored a 20-7 victory Saturday in a Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) Varsity Division contest.

The game turned into the Preston Woodworth game as Hadrian Batista kept finding him for long passes and touchdowns throughout. Woodworth also had 2 interceptions.

Batista found Woodworth for the first score of the game from 55 yards out and then hit him in the end zone for the 2 point conversion. A couple of series later, Batista again found Woodworth on a short pass, which turned into a twisting and turning 60 yard score and a 14-0 lead after a failed extra point run.

After half time the Rams marched down and pushed in a short TD run to cut the lead to 14-7, but on the next series Batista found Woodworth one more time for a long TD run and the final 20-7 score as Medina moves to 3-3 on the season. A return matchup from Newfane is next Saturday on what will be Medina’s Senior Night.
