Medina, Roy-Hart, Albion bow in N-O girls soccer

Wilson blanked visiting Medina 6-0 and Newfane downed host Roy-Hart 5-1 today to remain deadlocked for the Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer lead at 5-0.

In the other games, Barker gained victory No. 1 on the young season by shutting out CSAT 3-0 and Akron improved to 3-1-1 with a 3-0 win at Albion (1-4).

Wilson 6, Medina 0
Rachel Senek, Jenn Darlak and Kayla Neumann each scored 2 goals to lead undefeated (5-0) Wilson to a 6-0 victory over visiting Medina.

Emily Patterson added 2 assists for Wilson as Emily Kelly made 7 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Newfane 5, Roy-Hart 1
Newfane raced out to a 4-0 lead on 2 goals by Kayleigh Daniels and 1 each by Kaylee Heschke and Brianna Heers to key the 5-1 victory over Roy-Hart.

Emily Foltz netted the Lady Panther lone second half goal.

Emma Lindke scored for Roy-Hart which slips to 3-2.

Barker 3, CSAT 0
Barker snapped a season opening four league game losing streak by blanking CSAT 3-0 sparked by first half goals by Taylor Morris and Mallory Gross off assists from Sara Gendrue and Abby Bachman.

Mireia Coll-Vincent scored for the Lady Raiders in the second half.

Akron 3, Albion 0
All of the scoring came in the first half as 2 goals by Kara Sequin, a seventh grader, and 1 by Maggie Leeds sparked Akron past Albion 3-0.
