Medina, Roy-Hart spikers win N-O finales
Medina and Roy-Hart both closed out the Niagara-Orleans League volleyball season with victories this evening.
Medina downed host Newfane 25-11, 24-26, 25-13, 25-16 and Roy-Hart bested visiting Wilson 26-24, 25-14, 25-18.
In the other finale, Akron completed a 10-0 title season with a four set 25-15, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22 win over visiting Albion.
Je’ne Brown had 7 kills, Maddie Williams 5 kills and 12 digs, Emily Kams 13 digs and 5 aces, Grace Masse 5 digs and Alyssa Beyer 5 dgs to lead the way for Medina.
Lexie Sargent served up the first seven points in the third set for Medina and Kams tallied points 17-21 in the final set as Williams register an ace for the match winner.
Bea Bacon had 14 service points, 11 kills and 4 aces; Victoria Stanczyk 14 points with 2 aces; Aspen Moore 10 points, 3 aces and 3 kills; Skyler Christopher 6 kills and Olivia Vorholzer 5 kills to set the pace for Roy-Hart.
Chanyce Powell had 18 kills to lead the way for Albion as Kaitlyn Van Skiver added 8 kills, Haley Smith 6 kills, Caitlynn Snook 4 kills; Emilie Barleben 3 kills, 26 digs and 24 assists and Isabella Gibbs 10 digs and 2 aces.
Final Standings: Akron 10-0, Albion 7-3, Roy-Hart 6-4, Medina 4-6, Wilson 3-7, Newfane 0-10.
Byron-Bergen 25-25-25, Notre Dame 16-14-18
Byron-Bergen defeated Notre Dame in straight sets in a Genesee Region League match as Lauren Burke had 11 aces and 10 kills and Quinn Chapell 4 aces and 3 kills.
B-B is now 13-0 in the league and 14-1 overall.
