Medina, R-H/Barker split in youth football

Medina split four games with Roy-Hart/Barker Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action.

Beginners Division

Roy-Hart/Barker 32, Medina Ponys 13

The Medina Ponys took their first loss of the season against high scoring Roy-Hart/Barker.  Damareon Shine scored two touchdowns for the Ponys on runs of 60 and 75 yards and Remi Avery added an extra point.

Mini Division

Medina Colts 38, Roy-Hart/Barker 6

Improving to 2-4, the Medina Colts put it all together as the offense got rolling and the defense held the Rams to just a single score.

Ja’Keir Taylor opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 3 yard TD run and Tyler Draper hit Marcel Lamar for the 2 point score for an 8-0 lead.  In the second quarter Taylor again got loose, this time from 25 yards out to make it  14-0 at half time.

In the third quarter Lamar found pay dirt from 15 yards out. Javeon Wills scored from 63 yards out in the fourth quarter and the offense kept rolling as Patrick Grollmes scored from 39 yards out and then Draper got loose for a 50 yard TD run.

JV Division

Roy-Hart/Barker 19, Medina Broncos 13 OT

The Broncos open the scoring in the first quarter as QB Zach Graham ran in from a yard out to make it 6-0.  The Rams got that score back before halftime and it was 6-6 after 20 minutes.  The Broncos score again in the second quarter when Caliyah St. Louis ran it in from 60 yards out and Zahkius Chinn added the PAT to make it 13-6.

However, the Rams again score to tie the game at 13 and send the contest to overtime. In the OT the Broncos couldn’t get a first down on their possession and the Rams scored to win the game 19-13.

Varsity Division

Medina Stallions 30, Roy-Hart/Barker 0

Christian Moss opened the scoring for the Stallions with a 40 yard TD run and Preston Woodworth found Stetson Hall for the 2 point conversion.  Lex Gray extended the lead with a 7 yard TD run and this time Woodworth found Avion Johnson for the 2 point pass to make it 16-0.  Moss broke another long TD run scoring from 25 yards out and Woodworth found Trevon Shine for the 2 point score to make it 24-0 at half time.

Moss scored one more time on another 7 yard TD run to move the score to 30-0 and the Stallions hold the shutout by stopping the Rams 4 times from inside the 5 yard line and they move to 5-1 on the season.
