High school football rivals for many decades, Medina and Roy-Hart are now looking to renew their alumni football rivalry late this fall.

Medina High Athletic Director and varsity football Coach Eric Valley reports that plans are now underway to hold an alumni football game on November 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Vets Park.

“We are just starting to get things together but we have received approval to play at Vets that night” said Valley who notes that Medina and Roy-Hart game organizers are starting to work on putting rosters together.

Previously Medina and Roy-Hart held a series of three alumni football games from 2005-2007.

Medina won all three of those contests by scores of 14-6 in 2005, 12-2 in 2006 an 33-0 in 2007.

Interestingly, Valley threw a pair of touchdown passes to Jody Sargent to lead Medina to the 2005 win. Tom Brigham hooked up with Brock Menzel for Roy-Hart’s TD.

In 2006, Medina got touchdown runs from Lamont Rhim and Greg Hodgins to earn the win.  Lamont Rhim then threw 4 TD passes in the 2007 contest including 3 to Lionel Rhim and 1 to Sargent as Valley added a rushing TD.
