Medina quartet on college pitching staffs; Roy-Hart grad also on SUNY Niagara squad

A quartet of Medina High graduates are now pitching at the collegiate level.
Zach Fike (2022 graduate) is a sophomore and Aidan Paul (2023 grad) a freshman on the SUNY Niagara (formerly Niagara County Community College) pitching staff.
Xander Payne (2022 grad) is a sophomore on the SUNY Cortland diamond squad. A relief pitcher he is majoring in Sport Management.
Chris Goyette (2020 grad) is a junior on the SUNY Brockport pitching staff.
During their scholastic days at Medina, the foursome had a hand in helping to hurl and hit the Mustangs to a total of three Niagara-Orleans League crowns, three Section VI championships and one regional title during the 2019, 2021, and 2022 seasons.
The SUNY Niagara squad also includes Roy-Hart grad Gavyn Boyle who is a freshman outfielder.
Boyle got his season off to a strong start by belting a three-run homer during the Thunderwolves opening game 14-2 win over host Cayuga Community College Saturday.
Fike pitched in relief in the opener.
