Medina nips Depew in 8 on a no hitter

Backing a strong no hit pitching performance Medina pushed across two runs in the eighth inning to nip host Depew 2-0 in a non league game this evening.
A sacrifice fly by Julian Woodworth drove in the winning run and Zach Fike followed up with a single to plate an insurance run.
A walk to Richard Keppler, a sacrifice by Hayden Woodroe, a single by Tyler Kroening and an intentional walk loaded the bases to set up the opportunity.
On the mound, Aidan Paul and Xander Payne each pitched four innings for the combined no hitter with a total of 20 strikeouts.
Medina next hosts LeRoy in another non league contest at 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Colin McCulley hurled a one hitter to lead Notre Dame to a 12-0 win over host Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League game.
In another G-R contest, Holley shutout Pembroke 13-0.
