Medina nips Barker in field hockey in OT
Avenging an earlier season 3-2 loss, Medina nipped host Barker 2-1 in overtime in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game this evening.
Emi Batista scored the game winner for Medina just 40 seconds into the 10 minute 7 on 7 overtime period.
The contest was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time as both teams scored in the second quarter. Penelope Schalck scored for Medina and Kaylee Stoll for Barker.
Medina is now 5-6 and Barker 8-3.
The Medina victory also locks up outright possession of a fifth straight N-O title for undefeated (10-0) Akron which now has a three game lead with just two games reamining. The Lady Tigers will close out the N-O season with games at Newfane on Wednesday and at home against Kenmore on Thursday.
In the other N-O game, Kenmore edged Roy-Hart 1-0.
