Medina pushed across a run in the top of the seventh inning to edge past host Albion 2-1 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.
An error, walk, stolen base and passed ball combined to produce the decisive run as Medina improves to 4-3 in N-O action.
Albion did get the leadoff runner aboard in the bottom of the seventh on a single by Ellen Narburgh but the Medina defense turned in a clutch double play from Destiny Satkowski to Haylee Cogovan to quickly shutdown the rally.
Medina jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning as Satkowski singled and came home on an error.
Albion knotted the contest with a run in the fifth frame on a pair of errors.
Meghan Hurley had a triple and Narburgh a double on the afternoon for the Purple Eagles but both were left stranded.
In the circle, Medina pitcher Emily Kams allowed 3 hits and struck out 6 while Albion hurler Kelsee Soule gave up 1 hit and struck out 13.
The loss drops Albion to 5-4.
