Medina nips Albion in N-O softball

Avenging an earlier season one run loss, Medina edged past Albion 3-2 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game at Vets Park.

Emily Kams registered 9 strikeouts for Medina in the circle and also went 3 for 3 at the plate including a triple.

Emma Ambrose singled in what proved to be the game winning run for the Mustangs in the fourth inning.

Olivia Prest had 2 hits for Albion.

Medina, which next visits Roy-Hart at 3 p.m. Saturday to conclude a suspended game, is now 2-6 in N-O action while Albion is 2-7.

Medina also defeated Albion in the JV game 18-10. Micaela Erway had a hit and turned a double play.

Roy-Hart 22, CSAT 7

League leading Roy-Hart stayed unbeaten at 7-0 with a 22-7 victory over CSAT as the Lady Rams broke the contest open early with a 12 run first inning scoring explosion.

A two-run homer by Ashley Bower and a pair of RBI singles by Kayla Brown highlighted the decisive opening frame.

Brown had a total of 3 hits and 3 RBIs and Taylor Fry, Delaney O’sHea and Maddy Glena each added 2.

Lexie Lovewell, who came on in the third inning, picked up the win in the circle striking out 11.

Wilson 7, Barker 5

Anna Bryer had 2 hits and Taylor Devole picked up the win in the circle as Wilson trimmed Barker 7-5 to improve to 5-3.

Mary Rounds, Destinee Hillman and Ann Buffington all had doubles for Barker which slips to 3-6.

Akron 15, Newfane 4

Akron stayed just a game off the pace at 8-1 by posting a 15-4 victory over Newfane which slips to 5-3.
