Medina netters claim N-O title outright

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Kristian Snyder’s win at first singles helped spark host Medina to a title clinching win over visiting Wilson this afternoon.

Putting a lock on outright possession of the title, Medina defeated visiting Wilson 4 1/2-1 this afternoon in the Niagara-Orleans League tennis finale.

The victory caps off an 11-1 season for Medina which claimed the N-O crown for the fourth time in the last five years. The Mustangs also earned the championship in 2012, 2013 and 2014 during that stretch.

Straight set wins at the first two singles positions by Kristian Snyder and Tristan Sanders lead the way for Medina.

The Mustangs also swept the three doubles matches on straight set wins by the duos of Mike Cardone-Kyla Leno, Nick Bogan-Ray Pall and Brandon Harris-Able Zavitz.

Wilson, which finishes at 6-6, got a win at third singles by Kyle Lyon.
