Rebounding from a 9-3 loss, Medina bested Lockport 8-4 this evening at Vets Park to earn a split of a Lockport Midget ‘B’ League doubleheader.
Going to 3-3 in league action, Medina took a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning of the second game on an error and a fielders choice play as a hit by Jared Zinkievich and a walk set up the threat.
Medina then erupted for six runs in the third inning on two-run singles by Tyler Howard, and Chase McAdoo, a run producing double by Justin Morgan and an RBI single by Gage Grabowski for a commanding 8-0 lead. A double by Brett Riemer ignited that uprising which also included a single by Brad McPherson.
In the first game Medina also scored two quick runs in the first inning as Zinkievich and Riemer both had hits. However, Medina could not manage any more hits or runs.
