Medina matmen down Kendall

Four pins and six forfeits combined to key Medina to a 60-24 victory over visiting Kendall this evening in a non league wrestling match.

Brennen Callara (106) and Charles Beach (182) both registered sub minute pins for Medina which also got second period falls by Nick Erway (126) and Cody Crane (160).

Jacob Weed (170) registered a pin for Kendall which also got decision wins by Raymond MacFarland (145) and Mason ReQua (152).

Swimming

Newfane sweeps Albion
NEWFANE – The defending champion Newfane girls swim team stayed unbeaten at 4-0 by downing Albion 123-40 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League meet.

Kiki Dy doubled in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke for Newfane which also got wins by Victoria Harrington (200 free), Allie DeBiase (200 individual medley), Lydia Gaughran (100 butterfly), Kendall Schmeelke (100 free), Brianna Gaughran (500 free) and Kater Bochnewetch (100 backstroke).

The Newfane boys completed the sweep by downing Albion 106-38 to regain the .500 mark at 2-2.

Andy Hamelink doubled in the individual medley and breaststroke and Brandon MacFarlane in the 50 and 100 freestyle events to lead the way for Newfane. The Panthers also got wins by Bryce Lanighan (butterfly) and Mark Connolly (backstroke).

Morgan Seielstad doubled for Albion in the 200 and 500 freestyle events.
