Press Release, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office
SPENCERPORT — Douglas J. Taylor, 31, of Medina is in Monroe County Jail after being charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Byrne Dairy on Brockport-Spencerport Road on Friday at 4:56 p.m. for a reported assault and theft of a vehicle.
While deputies were responding, another call to 911 reported a motor vehicle accident had occurred in front of the Byrne Dairy.

A short time later, Rochester Police located the stolen vehicle in the City of Rochester after it was involved in a crash. The suspect fled the scene and a K9 track was unsuccessful. The investigation into the incident continued through the weekend. Information was developed as to whom the suspect was and with the assistance to the Rochester Police Department, the suspect was located and taken into custody on Sunday.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit investigators arrested and charged Taylor with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault. He was arraigned and remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash, $40,000 bond or $60,000 secured bond.
