Medina man facing multiple charges for allegedly selling crack cocaine

MEDINA – A Medina man faces multiple drug charges after being arrested on Tuesday following an investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine in the village of Medina.

Ronald O. Riley, 40, of 8 Applegate Drive has been was charged with 3 counts each of criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, which are Class B felonies.

He also has been charged with three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, which are A misdemeanors.

Riley is currently on parole with the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force and the Medina Police Department executed a search warrant at Riley’s residence in the Applewood Trailer Park on Salt Works Road in the town of Shelby.

Riley was arraigned in Shelby Town Court by Town Justice Dawn Keppler. He was committed to the Orleans County Jail without bail due to his previous criminal history. Riley is to return to Orleans County Court for a bail hearing, at a date to be determined.

A parole detainer was also filed with the Orleans County Jail by the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Cole and his K9 partner Otto also assisted the Task Force at the search warrant.

Further arrests and charges are pending in this investigation, the Task Force said.
