Medina/Lyndonville United posts upset win
The u14 Medina/Lyndonville United soccer team has upset the undefeated #1 ranked team in Western New York, GPS Elite, 3-1, in the EPIC Center indoor soccer league.
GPS won the first meeting 2-1 in the season opener.
United got on the scoreboard first when Jackson Moreland scored just 4 minutes into the game with the assist coming from Sam Kingsbury.
United added a second goal half way through the 1st half when Moreland returned the favor assisting for Kingsbury. GPS made the game 2-1 scoring late in the 1st half.
In the second half, United scored again just minutes into the half when Cole Seefeldt scored on a shot from 25 yards out.
Keeper Aidan Owczarczak and the strong defensive play of Jack Whipple, Mason Moreland, Will Roush and Seefeldt sealed the win by shutting out GPS the second half.
With the win ML United improves to 3-3 and moves up to 4th place in the league. Top four teams make the playoffs.
