Medina/Lyndonville quartet heads N-O All-League soccer team

Champion Medina/Lyndonville has placed four players on the first team of the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League boys basketball squad.

Medina/Lyndonville, which captured its first league title in the three year history of the merged program with a 9-2-1 record, is represented by junior forward Brian Anderson, senior midfielder Steven Anderson, junior midfielder Colm Cooper and sophomore defender Kristian Snyder. Steven Anderson, who also earned N-O Player of the Year honors, is a repeat selection.

Brian Anderson led the Mustangs in scoring with 16 goals and 6 assists while Steven Anderson had 11 goals and 7 assists and Snyder 4 goals and 3 assists.

The Mustangs also had four players earn second team All-League honors including senior forward James Ianni, junior midfielder Greg Husung, senior defender Collin Dunn and junior goalkeeper Justin Morgan.

Three other Mustangs received Honorable Mention including senior midfielder Aaron Feltz, junior defender Josh Klotzbach and sophomore midfielder Vassilios Bitsas.

Newfane placed three players on the first team including junior forward Chad Gilson (15 goals, 4 assists), freshman Trevor Moreland (9 goals, 13 assists) and senior goalkeeper Tyler Ribbeck.

Wilson is represented by freshman forward Cesar Carlin (20 goals, 2 assists) and senior defender Zachary Sarratori (6 goals, 6 assists) who is a repeat honoree.

Rounding out the first team are Albion senior defender Jacob Squicciarini, Roy-Hart senior defender Joe Frazier and Akron junior Bryan Whitbeck (9 goals, 2 assists).

Albion is represented on the second team by senior forward Marcos Sanchez (9 goals, 9 assists) and Roy-Hart by senior midfielder James DiLorenzo (4 goals, 3 assists).
