Medina/Lyndonville downs Kendall

Jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first 22 minutes, Medina/Lyndonville went on to defeat Kendall 5-1 in a non league boys soccer game played in a driving rain this afternoon at Lyndonville.

Brian Anderson had a hand in all three of the Mustangs early goals. He scored the opener off an assist from Colm Cooper. He assisted on the second, which was scored by Greg Husung, and then scored the third as Nick Albone earned the assist.

Kristian Snyder puts a shot on goal for Medina/Lyndonville as Kendall goalie Cameron Zinsmeister and defender Benjamin Frasch try to defect the shot.

Anderson completed his hat-trick with a goal in the second half which also included a goal by Kristian Snyder off assists from Husung and Cooper.

Bryce Gaesser netted the Kendall goal.

Medina/Lyndonville is now 3-0 and Kendall 0-2.

Bryan Whitbeck scored 3 goals and Tristan Olszewski 2 to spark Akron (2-1) to an 8-1 victory over CSAT (0-3) today in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

Byron-Bergen Tournament

Northstar 3, Albion 0
A penalty kick goal with just 12 minutes remaining snapped a 0-0 tie and keyed Northstar to a 3-0 victory over Albion this afternoon in the consolation game of the Byron-Bergen boys soccer tournament.

Albion had missed a penalty kick opportunity in the first half.

Albion defender Brad Sanford was named to the All-Tournament team.
