Medina/Lyndonville booters shutout Roy-Hart to grab N-O Lead

Medina/Lyndonville used the combination of a 4-0 victory over Roy-Hart at Vets Park this evening with Newfane’s 4-2 win over Akron to take over sole possession of first place in the tight five-way battle for the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer title.

Medina/ Lyndonville improves to 4-1 while Newfane and Wilson, a 4-0 victor over CSAT, are both at 4-2, Akron 3-2 and Roy-Hart 3-3.

Medina/Lyndonville built up a 2-0 advantage in the first half on goals by Aaron Feltz and James Ianni, off an assist from Steven Anderson.

The Mustangs then put a lock on the victory with two more goals in the second half by Kristian Snyder, off an assist from Anderson, and by Ianni.

Northstar 3, Albion 2

Northstar rallied for two goals in the last 17 minutes to edge past visiting Albion 3-2 this afternoon in a non league game.

Albion grabbed leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the first half on goals by Marcos Sanchez and Dakoda Henhawk, off an assist from Drake Arnold.

Newfane 4, Akron 2

Two goals by Chad Gilson, the first coming in the opening 38 seconds, along with one each by John George and Tevor Moreland, sparked Newfane (4-2) to a 4-2 victory over Akron (3-2) this afternoon in an N-O contest.

Tyler Jones and Brian Donahue each scored a goal for Akron.

Wilson 4, CSAT 0

Two goals by Cesar Carlin and one each by Zach Sarratori and Reilly O’Lay powered Wilson (4-2) to a 4-0 N-O victory over CSAT (0-6).
