Avenging an overtime playoff loss last fall, No. 5 seed Medina/Lyndonville shutout host No. 4 Lackawanna 4-0 this afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Section VI Class B1 boys soccer playoffs.

The Mustangs broke the contest open with a quick three goal scoring burst over the final nine minutes of the first half.

Dan Mandujano ignited that uprising with a goal off an assist from Nate Dillenbeck at the 31 minute mark.

AJ Seefeldt followed up with a goal five minutes later again off an assist from Dillenbeck.

Dillenbeck then scored himself two minutes later off an assist from Jack Whipple to put the Mustangs in command 3-0 at the half.

Dillenbeck also netted the Mustangs lone second half goal as AJ Seefeldt earned the assist.

Zach Fike earned the shutout in goal for the Mustangs whose defensive unit included Whipple, Russ Stephens, Alex Barry and Anthony Moule.

Improving to 9-4-1, Medina/Lyndonville will next visit top seeded East Aurora in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Thursday.
