Medina, Lyndonville and Holley-Kendall have champions at Gary Gross Memorial Tourney
Host Medina, Lyndonville and Holley-Kendall all had individual weight class champions at the Mustangs annual Gary Gross Memorial Wrestling Tournament today.
Reece Senske (108) and Sawyer Kingsbury (215) both earned titles for Medina as did Sebastian Temich (160) for Lyndonville and Hunter Jewell Smith (285) for Holley-Kendall.
Senske scored a major decision 8-0 win over Zak Massaro (Grand Island) in his title bout. He advanced to the finals with a pin and a sudden victory decision win.
Kingsbury, who likewise advanced to the finals with a pin and a decision win, pinned Lucas Clark (Starpoint) in 3:11 in his championship bout.
Temich pinned Ronan Klug (Roy-Hart/Barker) in 4 minutes in the finals after scoring a pin in the semis.
Smith, who registered three first period pins to reach the finals, decisioned Chris Howatt (Pioneer) 3-1 in his title bout.
Medina also had Austin Seefeldt (160) and Conor Crandall (190) place third and Liam Castricone (131) fourth.
Lyndonville had Justin Holmes (101) and Ty Holmes (124) both place second.
Holley-Kendall had William Kruger (152) finish fourth.
Roy-Hart/Barker had Lucas Kimber (108), Joey Jopp (124) and Luke Fay (131) all place third.
Malachi Smith won the 190 lb. title for Byron-Bergen.
Attica-Batavia won the team title as Medina placed second and Byron-Bergen third.
