Medina High fall squads all earn state Scholar/Athlete Team awards

All seven Medina High fall varsity squads have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar/Athlete Team awards by posting cumulative academic averages of at least 90.

The Mustang squads posted cumulative averages of 96.01 in girls soccer, 95.35 in boys soccer, 94.97 in volleyball, 94.45 in golf, 93.409 in field hockey, 92.18 in cross-country and 90.388 in football.

The student athletes whose averages helped earn the state awards are, by team, as follows:

Girls Soccer – Briana Bellan, Alex Markle, Morgan Roach, Regan Stacey, Martha Gardner, Liz Meyer, Emilee Austin, Mckenzie Wright, Tessa White, Emma Gardner, Taylor Miller, Kyla Leno, Ashley Dow, Haley Noreck and Rowan Hamner.

Boys Soccer – Hayden Allis, Scott Barber, Austin Brown, Colm Cooper, Adam Hoot, Ben Howell, Greg Husung, Ben Martin, Austin Owens, Max Owens, Anthony Pane and Barry Rogenmoser.

Volleyball – Molley Gross, Jenna Carpenter, Brittany Schultz, Emma Ambrose, Samantha Wendling, Felisha Houseman, Nicole Blount, Amanda McCauley, Cassandra Sargent and Emily Kams.

Golf – Jacob Bensley, Sam Busch, Mike Cardone, Ian McAnn, Brad McPherson, Nate Pace and Andrew Fuller.

Field Hockey – Bailey Allen, Shannon Allen, Savannah Barnum, Anna Blount, Kelsey Evoy, Lindsey Hill, Dominique Hughes, Baillie Oberther, Stella Russo, Addison Zavitz, Hannah Lonnen and Michaela Cardone.

Cross-Country – Ryan Leffler, Matt Cochrane, Luke Wilson, Austin Heil, Holly Heil, Dan Heil and Mike Gates.

Football – Matt Prawel, Adam Cotter, Tom Follman, Jason Hellwig, Nate Hodgins, Ben McPherson, Eric Neace, Brett Pecoraro, Noah Banazwski, Kyle Herman, Dylan Lewis and Dan Brown.
