Medina High holds graduation at Vets Park

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Graduation ceremonies for the 123 members of the Medina High Class of 2021 were held this evening at Veteran Memorial Park. Here the Daisy Chain leads the procession of graduates amid a brief windy rain shower at the outset. 

Superintendent Mark Kruzynski congratulates graduates Class President Sophia Cardone and Brian Fry after they received their diplomas. Also taking part in the diploma presentation were Board of Education President Arlene Pawlaczyk, Board of Education Vice President Wendi Pencille, High School Principal Michael Cavanaugh and High School Assistant Principal Joel Reed.

The commencement speeches were given by Valedictorian FaithAnn Vanderwalker, right, whose speech was entitled “A Year To Remember”, Salutatorian Alwyn Cayea, center, whose message to the graduates was “Hurry Up & Slow Down” and Accelerated Honors Graduate Suvi Biesinger, left, whose speech was entitled “The Work We Love.”  Pre-recorded, the speeches were shown on the digital scoreboard.

The graduating class and the Daisy Chain members assemble at their seats.

A large crowd of family, friends and well wishers nearly filled the grandstand.
