Medina has veteran tennis lineup
After finishing just a match off the pace last year, Medina returns a large group of seven regulars with which to make a strong run at the Niagara-Orleans League tennis title this spring.
Junior Kristian Snyder and senior Tristan Sanders, who manned the first two singles spots last spring, head the Mustangs veteran contingent which also includes juniors Carson Zgoda, Mke Cardone, Brandan Harris, Nick Bogan and Xion Baes.
Snyder earned first team N-O All-League honors while Sanders was a second team selection.
“We do have a good group of experienced players returning,” said Coach Chris Horgan whose Mustangs went 8-4 in N-O action last spring finishing a match behind champion Albion (9-3).
A large group of players are also vying for starting spots including seniors Charles Beach, Meghan O’Keefe; juniors Kyla Leno, Vassilios Bitsas, Abel Zavitz, Aedden Cayea; sophomore Toby Kiebala and freshmen Ray Paull and Andrew Houseman.
“We’ve got a good group and we have been able to practice outside earlier which is fortunate,” said Horgan who is in 16th season at the Mustangs helm. “The key for us to to jell individually and collectively and play consistent.”
