Medina harriers split with Wilson

Rowan Ford of Albion competes in the race today in Albion. He is followed by Josh Depoty of Albion in the last half mile.

Improving to 2-1 Medina nipped visiting Wilson 28-29 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls cross-country meet.

The 1-4 finish of Corinne Hill and Hannah Heil led the way for Medina.

Cassidy Wagner and Jen Regan finished 2-3 for Wilson which slips to 0-3.

Wilson downed Medina 25-30 in the boys meet led by individual winner Jon Moote.

Cameron Castenon placed second for Medina.

Wilson is now 2-2 and Medina1-2.

The Newfane boys stayed undefeated at 4-0 with a 20-43 win over Roy-Hart which slips to 2-2.

Roy-Hart’s Ozzy Moore (17:17) won the race as the Newfane duo of Nick Baes and Gannon Gibson finished 2-3.

The Newfane girls likewise improved to 4-0 with a 15-50 win over Roy-Hart led by the 1-2 finish of Lydia Chuco (19:24) and Kylie Bowman.

Roy-Hart’s Anna Rickard placed third.

The Barker boys improved to 3-1 by defeating Albion 17-44 and Akron 21-38. Akron also downed Albion 23-35 to improve to 2-1.

Barker’s Peter DiLorenzo (18:09) won the race with Akron’s Zach Sanford second. Reuben Rivers was Albion’s top finisher in fifth place.

The Akron girls stayed unbeaten at 3-0 by downing Albion 19-44 and Barker 23-33. Barker also bested Albion 20-36 to go to 2-2.

Akron’s Lauren Wagner (20:20) won the race as Albion’s Alanna Holman took second and Barker’s Haleigh Mason third.

Alanna Holman of Albion and Lauren Wagner of Akron lead the field of runners after the start of the race. Wagner held off Holman to win.
