Medina harriers score sweep

Medina defeated Roy-Hart 19-37 and Wilson 24-32 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League boys cross-country meet at the Roberts Bros. farm course.

Austin Heil and Dalton Cerbone finished 1-2 to set the pace for Medina which concludes the regular N-O season at 4-3.

Wilson downed Roy-Hart 23-32 in the other portion of the meet to go to 2-5. Wes Track led the Lakemen with a third palace finish.

Medina’s Holly Heil won the girls meet as Roy-Hart’s Chelsea Herriven placed second and Wilson’s Victoria Couturier third.

Roy-Hart defeated Wilson 24-31 and Medina 15-50 and Wilson topped Medina 15-50.

The Albion boys earned a split defeating CSAT 17-46 but losing to 24-31 to Newfane which also downed CSAT 16-47.

Newfane’s Ethan Morgan won the race and Albion’s Evan Pappalardo placed third.

The Albion girls likewise split. The Purple Eagles defeated CSAT 20-36 but lost to Newfane 22-37. Newfane also downed CSAT 15-49.

Newfane’s Kelly Bochnewetch won the race and Albion’s Meredith Patterson placed third.

N-O Field Hockey

Kenmore 1, Barker 0
KENMORE – Moving into a tie for first place, Kenmore knocked defending champion Barker from the ranks of the unbeaten by a narrow 1-0 score on a goal by Kaylee Mathias.

Kenmore and Barker are now both at 9-1.

The N-O loss was the first for Barker since 2005.

Roy-Hart 1, Newfane 0
NEWFANE – A first half goal by Kelsey Eldridge earned Roy-Hart a 1-0 victory over Newfane as the Lady Rams snapped a season long 10 league game losing streak.

Haley Moore earned the shut out in the cage for the Lady Rams.

The loss drops Newfane to 4-7.

Akron 6, Wilson 0
WILSON – Claudia Stone had two goals and two assists to lead Akron (7-3) past Wilson (4-6) 6-0.

Vollleyball

Roy-Hart 25-12-22-25-25, Cheektowaga 21-25-25-16-20
MIDDLEPORT – Roy-Hart came from way back to out last Cheektowaga in five sets this evening in a non league match.

Courtney VanBuren had 12 spiking kills and 8 service points, Eliza Schwab 6 kills and 9 points and Justine Witcopp 6 kills to lead the way for the Lady Rams.
