Medina gridders sweep Roy-Hart

Medina swept to a tripleheader victory over Roy-Hart Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association action at Vets Park.

The Medina Colts improved to 2-0 by downing Roy-Hart 26-13 in the Mini Division.

The Medina Broncos evened their record at 1-1 by nipping Roy-Hart 14-13 in the JV Div. as did the Medina Stallions by rolling to a 56-26 victory in the Varsity Div.

The Albion JV team likewise improved to 2-0 by downing host Batavia 28-12.

Batavia nipped Albion in the other two games winning 7-6 in the Mini Div. and 28-20 in the Varsity Div.

Colts 26, R-H 13
Xander Payne, Hayden Woodroe, Iverson Poole and Wyatt Zelazny all scored touchdowns to lead the way for the Medina Colts. Robert Arnold and Anthony Monell both added extra points.

Fumble recoveries by Woodroe, Aiden Pitts and Rashawn Bloom highlighted the defense.

Gavin Boyle scored both Roy-Hart touchdowns.

Broncos 14, R-H 13
A fourth quarter touchdown by Brian Fry and extra point by Colby Petrie lifted the Medina Broncos to the narrow win over Roy-Hart.

Petrie also scored a touchdown in the first half and Fry added the extra point.
Reed Albee and Blake Halstead scored touchdowns for Roy-Hart in the first half.

Stallions 56, R-H 26
The Medina Stallions roared out to a 36-18 half-time advantage as Izaiah Rhim completed two touchdown passes to Johnethan Salone and one to Vincent Montegue while Damon Bloom and Ronnie Koonce each ran for a score. Rhim and Montague also teamed up for three two-point conversion passes.

John Killian scored two touchdowns and Hunter Kruger one for Roy-Hart in the high scoring opening half.

Bloom, Ian Joseph and Adam Duffield all scored touchdowns for the Stallions in the second half.

Mini Division

Batavia 7, Albion 6
Jahmeek Riley had 115 yards offense, including a touchdown, and Amari Jones added 89 yards for Albion.

On defense, Jones made nine tackles, Jabari Johnson 5, Zach Olles 4 and Riley 4.

JV Division

Albion 28, Batavia 12
Brilliance Johnson had 190 yards with three touchdowns and Kevin Hillman 54 yards with one touchdown to spark the Albion attack. Thomas Furmanski completed extra point passes to Xavier Cornick and Kyle Woolston.

Defensively, Johnson had an interception, Reylend Callicutt a fumble recovery and Mekyron Drisdon a safety. Deyonci Farley was in on 5 tackles, Drisdon, Furmanski, Damien Lattimer and Brice Kelly 3 and Johnson 2.

Varsity Division

Batavia 28, Albion 20
Touchdown passes from Nate Moore to Antonio Vallejo of 70 yards and from Isaiah Callicutt to Mark Greene of 60 yards highlighted the Albion offense. Moore also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown and Vallejo 37 yards.

Vallejo and Colton Tuttle were both in on 7 tackles as Greene, Moore and Evan Olles each made 4 stops.
