Medina grid duo earns All-WNY honors

Two Medina High seniors, quarterback Jason Hellwig and running back/linebacker Brett Pecoraro, have earned honorable mention on the annual All-Western New York football squad.
Hellwig, a three year starter, completed 106 of 192 passes for 1,361 yards and 16 touchdowns this past season. Now the Mustangs career TD passing leader with 45, he also rushed for 318 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Pecoraro led Medina in scoring with 13 touchdowns. He rushed 117 times for 1,001 yards and 9 touchdowns and also caught 32 passes for 349 yards and 4 TDs. On defense, he had 53 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries.
Both players have also earned first team B North Division All-Star honors.
