Two Medina High graduates, Emily Kams and Alisha Scroger both had big days on the collegiate softball diamond Saturday.

Kams picked up her second win of the season in the circle for Genesee Commnity College as she hurled a 5 hitter with 9 stikeouts in the Cougars 7-2 victory over Erie Community College.

Kams, who earlier in the season blanked Finger Lakes 4-0 striking out 5, now has 23 strikeouts on the season. When not in the circle, she also plays first base for the Cougars.

Scroger had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored in Niagara Community College’s wild 16-14 win over Corning Community College.

Scroger, who plays shortstop for the Thunderwolves, is hitting .400 for the season with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 19 RBIs. On defense she has a fielding percentage of .939.
