Medina grad is Hilbert’s Athlete of the Week

Medina High graduate Zach Blount has earned Hilbert College’s Athlete of the Week honor.
Blount, who is a freshman midfielder on the Hilbert lacrosse team, was honored after helping spark the Hawks to a 20-3 romp over rival Medaille.
He was a perfect 7 of 7 in earning faceoffs in the contest and also had a goal and 5 assists.
Blount followed that up with a 2 goal, 5 assist effort in the Hawks 26-1 victory over LaRoche College of Pittsburgh.
On the season, Blount has scored 8 goals and dished out 16 assists.
Hilbert is now 2-2 in the United East Conference and 3-4 overall.
During his scholastic days at Medina, Blount had 53 goals and 79 assists during his four year varsity career. He had 22 goals and 18 assists his senior year as he earned first team D Division All-Star honors.
