Medina grad earns collegiate diamond honor

Medina High graduate and Genesee Community College freshman Emily Kams has been named Division III Pitcher of the Week.
Kams, who now has 32 strikeouts and an earned run average of just 1.71 this season, registered a pair of victories in the circle last week.
First she scattered 6 hits and struck out 3 over 7 innings in GCC’s 5-2 win over Jefferson Community College.
Then she registered 10 strikeouts and scattered 5 hits in GCC’s 7-2 victory over Erie Community College.
During her senior year at Medina Kams helped hurl the Mustangs to Niagara-Orleans League and Section VI titles.
