Medina golfers win N-O opener
Medina posted a 222-266 win over host Akron at DanDee Farms today in the Mustangs Niagara-Orleans League golf opener.
Ian Wagner took medalist honors for Medina with a 39.
Mike Cardone added a 43 and Carson Gates and Jake Bensley both carded rounds of 46 for the Mustangs.
Brennan Murdy shot 44 for Akron which slips to 0-2.
Barker also opened the season with a win as the Raiders defeated Newfane 253-262 at Oak Run.
Josh Richbart earned medalist honors with a 41 and Jake Meister shot 46 to lead the way for Barker.
The match was also the season opener for Newfane which was led by Paige Emborsky’s 46.
In one other match, Roy-Hart won by forfeit over Albion which had only four players available.
Hogan Lang took medalist honors with a 41 and Austin Walker had a 44 for Roy-Hart which improves to 2-0.
Victor Benjovski had a 47 and Patrick Ricker a 49 for Albion.
