Medina golfers win N-O opener
Medina bested Roy-Hart 228-265 this afternoon in a season opening Niagara-Orleans League golf match at Shelridge.
Seventh grader Ian Wagner took medalist honors with a 41 to lead Medina’s balanced scoring.
Gage Masters added a 45, Melanie Green 46 and Hunter Sturtevant and Mike Cardone rounds of 48 for the Mustangs. Green is also only a seventh grader.
Brendon Hess shot 50 and Faye Conley 51 for Roy-Hart.
In one other N-O opener, Barker and Akron split a pair of points at DanDee Farms.
Barker won on strokes 244-246 and Akron took the match play point 29.5-25.5.
Barker’s Brad Wilson earned medalist honors with a 40.
N-O action continues Thursday including Medina vs. Albion at Hickory Ridge, Barker at Newfane, CSAT at Roy-Hart and Akron at Wilson.
