Medina golfers nip Albion by one stroke

Defending champion Medina edged past rival Albion by a slender one point, 236-237, margin in a key early season Niagara-Orleans League golf match this afternoon at Hickory Ridge.

Medina’s Ian Wagner shared medalist honors with the Albion duo of Patrick Ricker and Nick Perry as the trio fired identical rounds of 40.

The Mustangs also had Aidan Paul with a 43, Dylan Lonnen 45 and Trevor Luthart 46.

The match was the season opener for Medina while Albion is now 2-1.

In the other N-O matches, Roy-Hart (1-4) defeated Newfane (0-3) 261-289 as Colin Dodge earned medalist honors with a 47 and Wilson (2-0) downed Barker (1-2) 248-261. Barker’s Jake Harris took medalist honors with a 41 and Patrick Seeley led Wilson with a 45.
