Medina golfer advances to state tourney

Medina freshman Ian Wagner placed third at the Section VI golf championships today to earn a spot in the upcoming state championships which will be held at Cornell University.

Wagner, a multi year Niagara-Orleans All-League honoree, shot 81 over the first 18 holes and then a 38 on the final 9 of the 27 hole competition.

Kendall sweeps Lyndonville
Kendall defeated Lyndonville in Genesee Region League track competition today winning the boys’ meet 62-51 and the girls’ 121-12.

Allan Tonas doubled in the Shot-put and Discus and Cameron Heller in the High Jump and Pole Vault for the Kendall boys.

Lyndonville’s Dustin Hinckley was a triple winner in the 100, 200 and 400.

The Kendall girls had a quintet of individual event double winners including Lyndsay Wright (100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles), Katie Wright (100, 200), Andrea Villalobos (800, 3000), Brittany Regan (Shot-put, Discus) and Lexi Payton (High Jump, Long Jump)
