Medina girls use fast start to down Albion

Scoring 4 quick runs in the first inning, Medina went on to defeat  Albion 24-2 in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game at Vets Park this afternoon.

A two-run double by winning pitcher Emily Kams highlighted the first inning scoring burst for Medina which then broke the game wide open by exploding for 11 runs in the third inning.

Alisha Scroger had a two-run double and Ryenn Oliver, Brandi Guild, Morgan Allis and Alyssa Beyer all added singles in the marathon frame.

Scroger finished with 5 hits, Kams and Beyer 4, Guild 3 and Oliver and Allis 2.

Medina is now 5-3 and Albion 1-7 in N-O action.

Barker 14, Wilson 10
Barker snapped a season long 6 N-O game losing streak by downing Wilson (2-7) 14-10 as Sydnie Luckman had a triple and Eadie Fuerch, Abby Bachman and Cassidy Granchelli doubles.

Jen Darlak and Madeline Mocarski had doubles for Wilson.

Akron 9, Newfane 5

Defending champion Akron (6-2) posted a key 9-5 victory over Newfane (5-2), a decision which vaults Roy-Hart (7-1) into sole possession of the N-O lead.
