Medina girls track team downs Wilson
Improving to 2-0, Medina scored a wind swept 84-21 victory over visiting Wilson this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League girls track meet.
Martha Gardner was a triple winner in the 800 (2:39), 1500 (5:38) and 3000 (13.00) for Medina as Trinity Fleck doubled in the 100 (:13.7) and 200 :27.90 and Olivia Carter in the 400 Hurdles (1:12) and Triple Jump (31-8 1/2). Morgan Roach also captured the 400 (1:12.7).
Fleck also teamed up with Kharise Johnson, Katie Bilicki and Je’ne Brown to win the 400 Relay.
Wilson, which slips to 0-3, had Grace Gerber win the 100 Hurdles, and Skyler Munnikhuyen the Long Jump.
The Medina boys led Wilson 61-44 in a meet that will be completed at a later date at Wilson as the shot-put, Discus, Pole Vault and High Jump were not held due to the weather conditions.
Jalin Cooper doubled in the 100 (:10.9) and 200 (:22.7), Dan Heil in the 400 (:57.9) and 1600 (5:00.2) and Connor Miller in the 110 Hurdles (:17.6) and 400 Hurdles (1:05.7) for Medina as Jack Hill added a win in the 3200 (10:54.5).
Wilson, which drops to 0-3, had Tre Rees win the 800 (2:15.1), Josh LiPuma the Triple Jump (36-0) and Marcel Wilson the Long Jump (18-7 1/2).
Newfane sweeps Roy-Hart
Staying perfect at 3-0, Newfane swept Roy-Hart winning the boys meet 105-27 and the girls competition 104-28.
Andrew Boudeman was a triple winner in the 100 (:11.6), Long Jump (17-6) and Triple Jump (37-0) to lead the Newfane boys as Sam Auernhamer doubled in the 1600 (5:09) and 3200 (10:55) and Albert Kramp in the 200 (:23.0) and 400 (:57.5).
The Newfane girls had a trio of double winners including Kim Goerss in the 1500 (5:19.3) and 3000 (11:49), Rachel Chunco in the 400 (1:06) and Long Jump (12-3 3/4) and Kaleigh Daniels in the 200 (28.6) and Triple Jump (28-9 1.2).
Barker, Akron split
The Barker boys improved to 3-0 with a 99-42 victory over Akron (0-2) as Dominic Clementi doubled in the 200 (:23.8) and 400 (:53.0) and Jake Arnold in the 800 (2:14.3) and triple jump (35-10 1/4).
Akron likewise had Mike Swinarski double in the 1600 (4:54) and 3200 (10:51) and Marcus Kenline in the Shot-put (38-9) and Discus (104-4 1/2).
Earning a split on the day, Akron won the girls meet 85-56.
Margo Henley doubled in the 1500 (5:45) and 3000 (13:03) and Leah Czechowski in the 100 (:12.8) and Long Jump (15-4 1/2)for Akron which improves to 2-0.
The loss drops Barker to 2-1.
Pembroke sweeps Kendall
Pembroke bested Kendall in a Genesee Region League meet winning the boys competition 78-36 and the girls 99-24.
Zach Perrin won the triple jump and placed second in the Long Jump for the Kendall boy as Joe LoSapio placed second in both the 100 and 400 Hurdles.
Katie Wright won the 200 and Lyndsay Wright the 400 for the Kendall girls as Brianna Wakefield placed second in the 1500.
