Medina girls surge past Roy-Hart

Trailing after each of the first three quarters, Medina put together a big stretch run to best host Roy-Hart 55-47 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Down 29-24 at the half, Medina closed the deficit to just one, 40-39, at the three-quarter mark as Je’ne Brown scored 8 and Maddy Winters 5 to lead the Mustangs in the third period.

Keeping the momentum, Medina then outscored Roy-Hart 16-7 in the decisive final period to claim the win as Winters tallied 6 and Brown 4 to lead that rally.

Brown finished with a total of 17 points and Winters 14 as Maddie Williams added 10, Holly Heil and Molley Gross 4, Kayla Cuadra 3 and Allison Bensley 2.

Ellie Todd took game high scoring honors for Roy-Hart with 19 as Ava Bligh and Skyler Christopher both added 10, Rachael Rausch 4 and Delaney Draper and Maddy Glena 2.

Medina improves to 5-5 in N-O action while Roy-Hart slips to 1-9.

Wilson 62, Akron 41

Up 38-15 at the half, undefeated (11-0) Wilson went on to best Akron (1-9) 62-41 as Kayla Neumann and Rachel Senek both scored 17 and Serina Jaeger 8.

Neumann also had 7 steals and 7 rebounds, Senek 8 assists and 10 rebounds and Jaeger 10 rebounds.

CSAT 42, Barker 22

CSAT built up a 24-11 half-time advantage and went on to defeat Barker 42-22.

Surenaty Davis-Patterson scored 14 and Kirara King 11 to lead CSAT which improves to 6-4.

Lindsey Williams scored 9 and Caitlyn Mason 5 for Barker which slips to 3-7.
