Albion romps; Newfane tips Wilson to share N-O lead

Jumping out to a 4-0 half-time advantage, Medina went on to blank Barker 7-0 this morning in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game at Vets Park.

Destiny Satkowski had 2 goals and 2 assists, Martha Gardner a goal and an assist and Melanie Hibbard a goal to spark Medina out to the big first half lead.

Satkowski, Gardner and Allison Bensley each netted a goal in the second half to round out the Mustangs scoring.

Medina is now 4-7-2 and Barker 1-12-0 in N-O action.

Albion 12, CSAT 0
Seven different players contributed goals as Albion defeated host CSAT 12-0 to improve to 6-7 in N-O action.

Nicole Eldred and Emily Blanchard each scored 3 goals, Mariah Elsenheimer 2 and Mikayla Yaskulski, Ally Page, Shelby Restivo and Sarah Gregori one each for Albion which led 5-0 at the half.

CSAT is now 1-12.

Newfane 3, Wilson 2
Newfane moved into a tie for first place by downing defending champion Wilson 3-2 at Wilson.

Two second half goals by Kayleigh Daniels, which snapped a 1-1 tie, provided the margin of victory for Newfane.

Newfane and Wilson are now deadlocked at 12-1 with one game remaining on the N-O schedule.

Wilson, which has won the last three N-O titles, had a 47 league game (44-0-3) unbeaten streak snapped.

Akron 3, Roy-Hart 0
Second half goals by Jenna Robnell, Leah Czechowski and Eliza Papke sparked Akron (9-3-1) to a 3-0 win over Roy-Hart (5-7-1).
