Medina girls roll past Roy-Hart

Roaring out to a 15 point first quarter lead, Medina went on to defeat visiting Roy-Hart 43-24 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Maddie Winters scored 8 points, including two threes, Maddie Williams hit a pair of threes and Molley Gross added 4 points to spark Medina out to a 19-4 first period lead.

The Mustangs increased the advantage to 31-8 at the half by outpointing the Lady Rams 12-4 in the second period, including 6 by Je’ne Brown.

Medina maintained a commanding 41-19 advantage at the three-quarter mark.

Winters and Brown both finished with 11 points, Williams 9, Holly Heil 6, Gross 4 and Kayla Cuadra 2. Brown also had 11 rebounds and 6 blocks, Winters 10 rebounds and 3 blocks, Williams 9 rebounds and 3 blocks and Heil 5 steals and 4 rebounds.

Emma Lindke scored 6 and Ava Bligh 4 for Roy-Hart.

Medina improves to 2-1 in N-O competition while Roy-Hart slips to 0-3.

Barker 31, CSAT 30

A jumper by Lindsey Williams with a minute to go proved to be the game winner as Barker nipped visiting CSAT 31-30 to improve to 2-1 in N-O action.

Caitlyn Mason scored 12, including two threes, to lead the Barker offense as Willams netted 9, Hailey Brown 7 and Kylie Miller 3.

The loss drops CSAT to 1-2.

Wilson 52, Akron 25

Defending champion Wilson romped to a 52-25 victory over visiting Akron to improve to 3-0.

Rachel Senek scored 17, Kayla Neumann 8 and Shea Munnikuysen 7 for Wilson which led 32-9 at the half. Munnikhuysen also grabbed off 10 rebounds while Senek and Neumann both had 7 steals.
